It's certainly been an interesting few days for Herman Cain. He's had a number of past mis-behaviors come up and thrown into the media echo chamber. 1 or 2 or 3 ladies have described Mr. Cain's sexually inappropriate conduct to various news outlets with Politico.com getting the initial scoop.
Herman Cain should be smart enough to know that it is rarely the act of something that makes the scandal, its the cover-up of the act. Once the rumors start coming out, you just have to air the whole thing and be done with it.
Anyhow, I find scandals like this fascinating but as also a little dirty. First off, sexual harassment is not to be condoned, it should be punished. That being said, I think people can make mistakes and jokes can be taken in ways that were not intended. Once can be considered an accident. Twice is iffy. Three times, to me, is more evident of a pattern of behavior.
Although this information is good to know about a candidate for President, I can't help but feel a bit dirty about the whole thing. What about the non-disclosure agreement? Doesn't seem like that did him a whole lot of good...
I've said this before elsewhere, but I really don't think that Herman Cain is a serious candidate (James Carville backs me up!) and the complete lack of any sort of vetting process doesn't help me believe that he really is a capable candidate. There have also been reports that he is just a Koch Brothers lackey (sources here, here, here, here & here).
A good video that explains this is below. The real meat of the video starts at about 5 mins.
